Our Story

Every animal deserves a place to begin again.

A soft bed. A full bowl. A gentle voice.

For an animal arriving at a shelter, these small things can be the beginning of feeling safe again.

Behind them are people who show up every day. They wash blankets, fill bowls, clean rooms, and sit beside animals who need a little more time to trust. They celebrate the smallest steps and keep making room for the next animal who needs them.

ShelterSpark began with a simple thought:

What if something we enjoy could bring us closer to something we care about?

A quiet moment with a puzzle. A little break in a busy day. A chance to build something, watch it grow, and feel connected to a purpose beyond the screen.

A shelter of your own. A connection to something real.

Your story begins at a virtual shelter that needs some love.

The rooms are worn. The spaces are quiet. There is work to do, but you won’t be doing it alone.

With your animal buddy beside you, you begin bringing it back to life. A welcoming room for that first arrival. An examination room ready for care. A safe yard where a dog can stretch, explore, and play. A peaceful space where a cat can climb into the sunlight.

Little by little, you can see what your care has created.

And while your shelter lives in the game, the shelter you choose to support is real. Real people doing the daily work. Real animals waiting for their next beginning.

Because caring takes many forms.

Some people foster. Some volunteer. Some adopt. Some give what they can, when they can.

ShelterSpark offers another way to feel connected.

You are welcome to play for free and enjoy the journey. If you choose to purchase Paw Credits, a clearly stated amount from your package supports your selected participating shelter. You can also follow the shelter’s link to donate directly.

No pressure. Just a choice you can understand and feel good about.

This is the heart of ShelterSpark.

We love the moment a frightened animal begins to relax. The first playful stretch. The brave step toward an outstretched hand.

And the people who make those moments possible.

We’re building ShelterSpark for people who carry that same tenderness for animals, even on the busiest days.

Come take a little time for yourself. Meet your buddy. Bring your shelter to life.

There is room for you here.

Is ShelterSpark free to play?

Yes. Play games, earn virtual rewards and restore your virtual shelter without buying a Paw Credit package.

Do I need an account?

Create an account to keep your shelter journey saved and return to your progress.

How does the journey work?

Choose a participating shelter, meet your buddy and name your virtual shelter. Restore the Waiting Room, Examination Room, Outdoor Play Yard, Indoor Cat Play Room and Medical Room, guided by your buddy.

What are Paw Credits?

ShelterSpark's single virtual currency, earned through gameplay or bought in optional packages, and used to restore and decorate your virtual shelter. They cannot be withdrawn as cash, and earned credits raise $0 for shelters.

Does free gameplay raise money for a shelter?

No. Free play earns virtual rewards; it does not generate a monetary shelter contribution.

Can I donate directly?

Where a participating shelter provides a donation link, you can give through its own donation process. The shelter handles that donation and any receipt.

Are the rooms and animal buddies real?

The rooms and current buddies are part of the virtual game. Your selected participating shelter is a real organization; virtual renovations do not represent specific real-world purchases or construction.

What if I need more Paw Credits after three levels?

Free replay lets you earn more. Some games award 105 Paw Credits per round while room restoration costs 320; your existing balance counts too.

Can I play on different devices?

ShelterSpark is designed for browsers on phones, tablets and computers. Use the same account to return to saved progress.

What happens after I finish restoring?

Revisit rooms, decorate and replay available games. Future shelter operations chapters are planned and are not yet part of the founders restoration release.
