Play for free
ShelterSpark is free to play. You can play games, earn virtual rewards, and restore your virtual shelter without ever buying a Paw Credit package. Free gameplay does not generate a cash contribution to a shelter — it simply earns you virtual rewards inside the game.
Donate directly
If you'd like to give more, the Donate button sends you to your selected shelter's official donation page. The shelter handles that donation itself — including any receipt — and it does not pass through ShelterSpark.
Important to know
Paw Credits are virtual in-game credits. They are not cash, cryptocurrency, a bank balance, or a charitable donation. Paw Credits can only be used for eligible digital features inside ShelterSpark and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, sold, or exchanged for money.
Buying Paw Credits is a game purchase with a disclosed shelter contribution — it is not the same as donating. A direct donation is separate and goes through the shelter itself.

What do I get in a package?
Each package shows its purchase price, the Paw Credits you receive, and the exact amount contributed to your selected participating shelter. The whole package price does not go to the shelter — only the stated contribution does.
How much of my purchase goes to my shelter?
Only the exact stated contribution from your package is designated for your selected participating shelter. The shelter chooses how to use the funds for its animals and operations. You can follow every recorded contribution and its status in your Impact Ledger.
What if my nominated shelter declines to participate?
If your chosen shelter has not joined, ShelterSpark holds the shelter contribution from your eligible purchase until they agree to participate. You receive your Paw Credits after payment is confirmed. If the shelter declines, you can choose another participating shelter. A nominated shelter is not a confirmed partner — it can only receive a shelter contribution after it is approved and participating. Amounts are shown as paid to a shelter only after the money is actually paid, never before.
Does free play raise money for a shelter?
No. ShelterSpark is free to play, and free gameplay earns you virtual rewards inside the game. It does not generate a cash contribution to a shelter.
What is the refund policy?
Paw Credit purchases are final. We do not offer change-of-mind refunds or cash redemption of unused credits. If you were charged twice for the same intended purchase, contact support@shelterspark.com so we can investigate and correct a confirmed duplicate charge. Contact us as well if purchased credits were not delivered or you suspect an unauthorized charge. This policy does not limit refunds or other rights required by applicable law.
